Trouble marking text in Word

Marking text with mouse behaves strange; when marking for example a Word or several Words, the marking disappears before I have time to take action. Not always though; sometimes it stays, often it doesn't. I have tried in File - Advanced - Editing alternatives to remove smart paragraph marking and smart pointing, and Automatic marking of Whole Words,, but that doesn't help. It is very annoying.

    Hi. Thank you for your feedback. After removing the add-ins associated with word, try first if the problem still exist.

    If still, repairing your office might help you.

    Hi, I have deactivated Word add-ins, but i am not sure there were any.

    There are a few add-ins in Excel. Do you mean I need to deavtivate them too?

    More info: it doesn't seem to happen With the touch pad...

    To address your concerns, installed add ins might be the one responsible why you are having highlighting issue. Removing them might help you gwt back to normal behaviour.
