I entered the product key that I received from Costco and it barely gave me a month rather than the 3 months that it was supposed to. Any suggestions?

    Hello

    https://www.costco.com/p/-/microsoft-365-family-with-copilot-12-month-subscription-up-to-6-people-e-delivery/4201006373

Costco's website has some fine prints for the 3-month offer.

If you only received about one extra month, I would check two things:

    1. Whether you were already an existing Microsoft 365 subscriber. The Costco wording specifically says the 3-month bonus applies to qualifying new subscribers.
    2. Whether you received and accepted the recurring-billing prompt during redemption. If that prompt never appeared, or recurring billing was not enabled at that point, the bonus may not have been applied.

If you believe you meet the condition, I would suggest that you contact Microsoft support with your Costco purchase receipt.

Go to https://support.microsoft.com/contactus, Type "Billing" and press Enter. On the next screen, click "Contact support" at the bottom of the page, then choose "Microsoft 365" > "Manage my subscription". You’ll then see the option to chat with a Microsoft support agent who has access to your account to help review the issue.

    1. Check the subscription that was actually redeemed at the Microsoft account, Services & subscriptions page: https://account.microsoft.com/services/
      • Verify the exact plan name and expiration date.
      • If the date shows about 1 month, a trial may have been activated instead of the full offer, or the full offer may not have been redeemed on the correct Microsoft account.
    2. Make sure the product key was fully redeemed.
      • A Microsoft 365 subscription from a retail box or card does not start until the product key is entered or the redemption steps in the receipt are completed.
      • If the key came from Costco, confirm the redemption completed successfully and is attached to the same Microsoft account used to sign in to Office.
    3. If Office is asking for activation, sign in with the Microsoft account used for the purchase or redemption instead of entering the key again.
    4. If the subscription status online does not match what was promised, contact Microsoft Support.
      • Microsoft recommends checking the renewal/expiration status online first, then contacting support if the expiration date is wrong.
    5. If the key itself did not redeem correctly, or shows an error, use the product-key error guidance or contact support.

A 3-month offer should not appear as only about 1 month if the correct offer was redeemed successfully. The most likely causes are:

    • a 1-month trial was activated instead of the 3-month offer
    • the full offer was not fully redeemed
    • the offer was redeemed on a different Microsoft account
