I accidentally deleted my OneDrive files on September 16, 2026. The files are no longer in the Recycle Bin. I have the 50 GB OneDrive storage subscription and need to know whether Microsoft can perform any server-side file recovery

    Hello,

Is this a personal account or a work/school account?

If it is personal account, unfortunately, once deleted from Recycle Bin, it is gone. It works as it is designed to do, the files cannot be recovered.

If this is a work/school account, it might be recoverable, depending on each organization's retention policy. Reach out to your organization's IT support team, they would know what the retention policy is for your organization and can recover for you if it is still within the defined retention period. y

For OneDrive personal accounts, files deleted from the Recycle Bin cannot be recovered by built-in OneDrive restore methods.

    Supported recovery options are:

    1. Check that the correct Microsoft account is signed in, because files may be in another OneDrive.
    2. If the files were synced to a PC or mobile device, check the device’s local Recycle Bin or OneDrive folder.
    3. If Microsoft 365 is available on the account, try Restore your OneDrive to roll back the entire OneDrive to a point within the last 30 days. In OneDrive on the web, go to Settings > Restore your OneDrive. This option is not available without a Microsoft 365 subscription.

For a 50 GB OneDrive storage subscription, the context does not provide any supported Microsoft server-side recovery process after files have been permanently deleted from the OneDrive Recycle Bin. One source explicitly states that once files are removed from the Recycle Bin, OneDrive does not offer a built-in way to recover them directly.
