A Microsoft file hosting and synchronization service.
Hi Omarkhayyam,
Thank you for sharing your concern in Microsoft Community, I know how important OneDrive files and accidentally deleted and are no longer in the Recycle Bin. That’s definitely a stressful situation, especially when those files are needed for both personal and work reasons. Let’s look at a few things that might help.
When you delete files from OneDrive, they usually go to the Recycle Bin, where they stay for up to 30 days unless you manually empty it or permanently delete the files. Once they’re removed from the Recycle Bin, OneDrive doesn’t offer a built-in way to recover them directly.
However, depending on your setup, there might still be a chance to recover them.
What You Can Try is
Check OneDrive Online
Go to onedrive.live.com and sign in.
Open the Recycle Bin and scroll to the bottom if you’re using OneDrive for Business, you might see a second-stage recycle bin.
Check Your Local Devices
If your OneDrive was synced to a PC or mobile device, the files might still be in the device’s local Recycle Bin or OneDrive folder.
Sometimes, files remain cached locally even after deletion from the cloud.
Use OneDrive Restore (Microsoft 365 subscribers)
If you have a Microsoft 365 subscription, you can use the Restore your OneDrive feature to roll back your entire OneDrive to a previous date (within the last 30 days).
This is especially helpful if multiple files were affected by accidental deletion or ransomware.
Contact Microsoft Support
If none of the above options work, you can reach out to Microsoft Support and request a data recovery case. Contact Us - Microsoft Support
In some cases, they may be able to assist with restoring deleted content even if it’s no longer visible to you.
Let me know what you find, and I’ll be happy to help in any possible way.
