How to restore an email alias that was deactivated

I deactivated an old live account email address due to constantly receiving notifications that a bad actor was trying to access the account. I did this by adding a new email address alias and setting it as primary, then deleting the old live.com email alias. My question is, is there a way to reactivate that old email address alias?

    Hello

Unfortunately the only alias that can be recovered back to the same Microsoft account is an outlook.com address. Live.com, hotmail.com and msn.com alias deletion is permanent.

A warning is given when you removed it.

No. If a Microsoft-domain alias such as @live.com is removed from a Microsoft account, it is permanently deleted and cannot be added back or associated with any Microsoft account again.

    Supported details:

    • Microsoft account email addresses are aliases.
    • Before removing an alias, Microsoft warns that removing a Microsoft-domain alias such as @outlook.com, @hotmail.com, or @live.com permanently deletes that address.
    • If the goal is only to stop sign-in with an old alias, aliases can be blocked from sign-in instead of being removed.
