In your account at https://account.microsoft.com/services , turn off recurring billing if it is currently enabled, and then you should be able to cancel. See also https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/accounts-billing/subscriptions/cancel-a-microsoft-365-subscription .

The rules for refunds are discussed in the support article at https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/subscriptions/how-to-get-a-refund-on-a-microsoft-subscription .

    Hi,

Regarding your refund, the only way to contact Microsoft billing support for a personal account is through live chat. Phone support is not available for personal accounts.

    Click this link: https://support.microsoft.com/contactus/

Sign in to your Microsoft account.

Select Microsoft 365 > Click 'Get home support'.

Type "Chat with an agent" from the text field and press Enter.

Click "Contact support" at the bottom.

Select the product you need help with.

Follow the prompts to connect with a live agent or request a call back.

If the subscription was purchased directly from Microsoft, use this path to reach a live support option and check refund eligibility:

    1. Go to https://support.microsoft.com/contactus.
    2. Type Billing or Contact in the search box.
    3. Select Get Help or Contact support.
    4. Choose Microsoft 365 and Office.
    5. Choose Manage my subscription.
    6. Select Chat with support agent in web browser if that option appears.

For refund eligibility on subscriptions bought directly from Microsoft:

    1. Sign in with the Microsoft account used for the purchase.
    2. Go to Services & subscriptions.
    3. Select the subscription, then Manage > Cancel.
    4. During cancellation, Microsoft indicates whether the subscription qualifies for a refund and provides the next steps.

Important checks if cancellation is not available:

    • If Turn on recurring billing appears instead of Cancel or Manage, the subscription is already set to expire and no further charge should occur.
    • If the subscription was bought through Apple App Store, Google Play, Amazon, Best Buy, or another third-party retailer, the refund and cancellation must be handled by that seller, not Microsoft.
    • If signed in with the wrong Microsoft account, the subscription may not appear. Use the same personal Microsoft account that made the purchase.
    • If there is an overdue balance or an expired payment card on the subscription, cancellation may be blocked until that is resolved.

If the issue is an unrecognized or incorrect charge and account access is blocked, use the same Contact Support path above to reach billing support.
