Dear @欣庭 蔡,
Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.
Before giving you the best solution, could you please confirm these questions below to help me diagnose the issue more effectively:
- Do you currently have access to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center or the tenant associated with this subscription?
- Which region or country you are located in? This helps me provide the correct cancellation and support options for your area.
- Does the renewal email show a specific login username (for example: ******@something.onmicrosoft.com)?”
I understand how frustrating it is to be charged for a subscription you cannot locate. In this case, Microsoft 365 Business Basic is a work/school (tenant) subscription, it often will NOT appear under a personal Microsoft account.
Firstly, you should contact your bank or card provider and request them to block future recurring charges from Microsoft.
In the meantime, since cancel subscription and refund request things need action/approval from Billing team, so you have to raise the support ticket to Billing Team under correct/affected tenant. Since you already have the renewal email + Tenant ID, here are some options I recommend you try:
Option 1: If you can access the Microsoft 365 Admin Center
If you are able to sign in at https://admin.microsoft.com using the email address linked to the subscription, you can cancel your subscription in the Microsoft 365 admin center. For more information, please refer to Cancel your subscription in the Microsoft 365 admin center
However, the steps to cancel your subscription depend on the type of billing account that you have. Find out what type of billing account you have.
Option 2: If you cannot access the Microsoft 365 Admin Center
Step 1: Contact Microsoft Data Protection Support by Phone
Since you are locked out, the most direct method is to call Microsoft's support line to raise a request for cancelling the unexpected subscription. For a full list of regional numbers, you can also visit this official page: Customer service phone numbers - Microsoft Support. The support team will assist you as soon as possible. Here are some tips and an example of a prompt to help you navigate the IVR more effectively:
In some countries, it is an automated conversation like: First, when you call the hotline, it will be asked as follows:
IVR: What kind of problem are you concerned about?
You: Billing.
IVR: What kind of product do you use?
You: Office 365 for business.
IVR confirmation: education or company account?
You: For companies
IVR: Are you an administrator?
You: Yes.
IVR: Do you have the other administrator in your organization?
You: No.
IVR: Do you need a... Service request?
You: Yes
This process should connect you with a live agent who will create a service request with the Microsoft team. They will then contact you to help you cancelling subscription.
Step 2: Create a Temporary Account (Trial Tenant) to Submit a Support Ticket
If you have difficulty reaching an agent by phone, there is a reliable workaround. This involves creating a new, temporary Microsoft 365 account to contact the support team online.
- Sign up for a new Microsoft 365 Business trial using this link: Compare All Microsoft 365 Plans.
- Once the trial account is created, log in to its Admin Center.
- From the Admin Center, open a new Service Request.
- In the ticket description, explain that you need to cancel the subscription of your primary tenant (your.onmicrosoft.com) and that you need to speak with the Billing team. Provide the renewal email, the Tenant ID, and a good contact number for them to reach you.
- For reference: Get support | Microsoft Docs
Important: Please remember to cancel the trial subscription after your original account issue is resolved to avoid any future charges.
