I try to install Microsoft 365 but my product key cannot be recognised

Did you purchase your Microsoft 365 subscription from a third party and it came in a format of 25-digit key? If so, you need to redeem the license key first, so that it is associated with your Microsoft account, then moving forward, your Microsoft account serves as license.

To redeem the key, you go to either www.office.com/setup or Microsoft365.com/setup to do so.

Note - if it is telling you the key is invalid when you redeem, you need to contact whoever you bought the key from to dispute it.

Once redeemed, or if you purchased Microsoft 365 subscription directly from Microsoft, you install it this way:

Please go to https://www.office.com

Sign into the Microsoft account you used for the subscription. Click on the 9-dot icon on the upper left > More apps.

Then on the upper right, click on "Install apps". This will now download the installer file. Once downloaded, click on the file to install. It will install the Desktop version of the apps for you then.
