Hello
If you have not enabled two-step verification, you can try Microsoft’s account recovery form: https://account.live.com/acsr
Enter your Hotmail address and another email address you can currently access. This contact email does not need to have been linked to your Hotmail account.
Complete the form using a familiar device and location. Provide previous passwords, email contacts, and exact subject lines of emails you sent.
Microsoft will send the recovery result to your contact email within 24 hours.
If two-step verification was enabled, this form cannot recover the account, and support cannot bypass verification. See Microsoft’s account recovery guidance.
Hello
Two-step verification means signing in with your password plus another proof, such as an authentication code. A code requested during a password reset does not automatically mean you enabled this setting.
Microsoft is phasing out SMS verification, but its announcement does not give one shutdown date for every account. Details: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/accounts-billing/security/how-to-use-two-step-verification-with-your-microsoft-account
I suggest asking your former company’s IT team whether they can temporarily restore your old verification mailbox. If they can, you may be able to receive a password-reset code there.
If that is impossible, improve the recovery information before submitting again: ask people you emailed for exact subject lines of your messages, and include previous passwords you remember. For the missing replies, try another accessible contact email and check its junk folder. You can submit up to twice daily; the form cannot recover accounts with two-step verification enabled. Guidance: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/accounts-billing/manage/help-with-the-microsoft-account-recovery-form
If replies still do not arrive, contact Microsoft Support about that issue: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/contactus. Support cannot bypass identity verification or guarantee recovery.
Hello
Yes, you can try again. Microsoft allows up to two recovery submissions per day; a previous rejection does not prevent another attempt. Official guidance: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/accounts-billing/manage/account-recovery-unsuccessful
Check the junk folder of the contact email you entered. If no response arrived, try another working contact email for your next submission.
Submit here: https://account.live.com/acsr. Use a familiar device and location, and include all previous information plus your additional details—especially old passwords and exact subject lines of emails you sent.
