2024-03-08T23:40:37+00:00 Thank you for your reply, and I'm sorry to hear that you received that error message. The 'access denied' error is related to a permissions issue. Is the command prompt running as an administrator? The DISM command may take a while to process; sometimes, it appears to be stuck. If it continues, you may try to start your PC in Safe Mode and run the command there. If these steps do not fix the issue, we may need to perform a repair on your system. Please let me know. Thank you.

Have you installed any new software before encountering the Windows Update issue? Sometimes, errors may occur during the update to the latest version of Windows 11 due to third-party antivirus or security software. Try disabling it and then run the update again. If the issue persists, please attempt the following:
Method 1: Temporarily disable any active third-party antivirus program, such as Bitdefender, as it may be interfering with the update.
Method 2: Run the Windows update troubleshooter
Click the Start Menu> Go to settings(gear icon) > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
Next, under Most Frequent, select Windows Update and click on Run > Follow the screen prompt
Method 3: Reset Windows Components
Enter "Command Prompt" into the Windows search box, then right-click and select "Run as administrator" to proceed. After the Command Prompt opens, input the following commands and press Enter after each:
net stop bits
net stop wuauserv
net stop appidsvc
net stop cryptsvc
Ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution.old
Ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.old
net start bits
net start wuauserv
net start appidsvc
net start cryptsvc
Restart your PC then try to update again.
Method 4:Run the SFC and DISM tools to repair system-corrupted files that may be causing the issue.
On your search bar, type CMD, then right-click on the result and run as administrator.
Copy and paste the commands one at a time below, then press Enter:
DISM /Online /Cleanup-image /Checkhealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
sfc /scannow
Restart your PC then check
