My computer with the sound behaviour as described earlier was returned to HP due to a hardware problem. The hardware problem didn't have anything to do with the sound behaviour.

The "replacement" computer I have bought has the same sound behaviour via Realtek and the 3,5 mm connectors for speakers and headphones.

This computer has the same Realtek driver as the previous one had from the beginning and I can't find a newer version on the HP support site.

Any suggestions how to disable the 1-2 second delay of full selected volume when starting to play sound?

    Hello Jason!

I called HP Sweden this morning and talked to them about my problems with the new computer.

It's not only the sound problem. It's another more severe problem that probably is a hardware malfunction.

The outcome is that I will send the computer back to HP and get a new one.

Thanks for your help. We close this case and hope that the new one works better.

Greetings and thanks again for your help!

    Bertil.

    Hi Jason!

    I hope you've had a good weekend.

I downloaded and installed the Realtek driver again but no change this time either. I've also tried the HP Support assistant and the sound checks available there but nothing I can find there or anywhere else affects the problem with the 2 second delay up to selected sound volume for speakers and headphones jacks via the Realtek driver.

I trust that you are checking within Microsoft and with Realtek what this could be and how to change the setting.

I will also check with HP Sweden who delivered the computer and see what they say.

    Best regards Bertil.

    Hello Jason!

I did one more check regarding the drivers.

This is details about the one I downloaded.

But still it says June 14 here

Why is it like that? Didn't the installation work? Did I only get the new Omen Audio Control?

I'll try again during the weekend and let you know if something changes.

    Hello again Jason!

With the new driver I got a new Omen Audio Control that I didn't have before. I tried all settings but nothing changes the problem with a 2 second delay unitil selected volume is reached.
