Thanks for sharing the details, marten! So the goal is to use Word, Excel, and OneDrive on iPad/iPhone with your existing Microsoft 365 Family subscription. No duplicate subscription offers, no Copilot interruptions.

Before you proceed to install, remove all clutter first.

    • On your iPhone/iPad, delete:
      • The Microsoft 365 (formerly Office) app
      • Any Copilot app
      • Word and Excel if already installed and causing confusion
    • Restart your device (optional but helps clear cached data).

Open the App Store and install these exact apps (not the all-in-one Microsoft 365 app):

    Microsoft Word

    Microsoft Excel

    Microsoft OneDrive

These are the standalone apps. They respect your subscription once signed in.

Next is to sign in correctly, use the same Microsoft account that manages your 365 Family subscription. If it still says “Subscribe,” tap Restore Purchases (if shown) or sign out completely → sign back in again.

Lastly, disable Copilot and other distractions. In each app, go to Settings → Copilot (or AI Features) → toggle off anything like “Enable Copilot” or “Show Copilot in ribbon.” If you see “Copilot” floating icons or prompts, simply tap and hold → choose Don’t show again.

These toggles are being rolled out gradually, so in some regions you might just have to ignore or dismiss them once. They won’t reappear once declined.

    Best regards,

    Kimberly
