Subject: When Will the Enhanced Sign-in Security (ESS) Setting Become Available for Kensington VeriMark Desktop 2.0?
I am using Windows 11 Home, version 25H2, with a Kensington VeriMark Desktop 2.0 fingerprint reader (K64741WW).
I have already checked the relevant Windows registry entries, and ESS appears to be enabled. Windows Hello fingerprint authentication works correctly, and the related event logs indicate normal ESS operation, including "Advanced / Virtual Secure Mode." Other relevant security requirements and settings have also been checked and appear to be functioning normally.
However, the "Enhanced sign-in security" option is still missing from:
Settings → Accounts → Sign-in options → Additional settings
Microsoft announced the gradual rollout of ESS support for external fingerprint readers in the July 28, 2026 update (KB5101684).
As of October 12, 2026, the setting has still not appeared on my PC.
Could you please clarify the following?
Is the "Enhanced sign-in security" setting still being rolled out gradually to eligible Windows 11 25H2 devices?
Is there an estimated date or timeframe when this setting will become available for the Kensington VeriMark Desktop 2.0 (K64741WW)?
Since ESS appears to be functioning correctly on my PC, is the missing setting simply due to the gradual rollout, or could there be another reason?
Is there an estimated date for the completion of the rollout to all eligible devices?
I understand that an exact release date may not be available, but I would appreciate even an approximate timeframe, such as whether the rollout is expected to be completed within the next few weeks or months.
Thank you for your assistance.
