How to cancel a Microsoft 365 family subscription

In July 2026, I cancelled my Microsoft 365 Family subscription (gmail account) and bought a Microsoft 365 Personal subscription and put it in a different email account.

In August 2026 I was billed and also told that Microsoft had renewed the Family subscription in my gmail account.

How do I cancel the Microsoft Family subscription for good?

    How did you cancel it? Did you do it this way?

    Please go to https://account.live.com

    Sign into your Microsoft account. Then go to Services. Click on Manage for the subscription plan you want to cancel.

    If you did and you are still being billed for it, you would want to contact billing support as it is not supposed to do so.

    To get help, open the "Get Help" app on your computer (just search for it in the Start menu). or go to https://support.microsoft.com/contactus, Type "Billing" and press Enter. On the next screen, click "Contact support" at the bottom of the page, then choose "Microsoft 365" > "Manage my subscription". You’ll then see the option to chat with a Microsoft support agent who has access to your account to help review the issue.
