To request a refund for the completed Microsoft 365 charge, cancel the subscription from the purchasing Microsoft account; provide the new card only through Microsoft’s secure payment settings, not in this public forum.

    Request the refund

    1. Open Services & subscriptions and sign in with the Microsoft account that purchased Microsoft 365.
    2. Find the subscription and select Manage.
    3. Select Cancel or Upgrade or Cancel.
    4. Complete the cancellation flow. Microsoft will automatically display whether the charge qualifies for a refund and provide the next steps. Not every cancellation results in a refund.[^1^](https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "Microsoft subscription refund policy | Microsoft Support")

For the most recent recurring charge, Microsoft’s policy generally provides a refund when the subscription is cancelled within 30 days after payment, limited to one refund per Microsoft account per subscription product. Regional and subscription-specific terms can differ.[^1^](https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "Microsoft subscription refund policy | Microsoft Support")

If Turn on recurring billing appears instead of Cancel, the subscription is already scheduled to expire and will not renew. Use Contact Support from the refund-policy page if the cancellation flow does not present a refund option.

Use the new card for future renewals

If the goal is to continue Microsoft 365 rather than cancel it:

    1. Go to Services & subscriptions.
    2. Select Manage beside Microsoft 365.
    3. Select Change how you pay.
    4. Choose Add a new way to pay, enter the replacement card securely, and select it for the subscription.[^2^](https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "Change your Microsoft subscription payment method and options | Microsoft Support")

Changing the payment method affects future billing; it does not move or reverse a charge already processed on the old card. If recurring billing is off, Change how you pay may not appear because the paid subscription is already set to expire.

If Microsoft 365 was purchased through Apple, Google Play, or another retailer, request the cancellation and refund from that seller rather than Microsoft.[^3^](https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "Unable to cancel your Microsoft subscription | Microsoft Support")

Never post the full card number, CVV, or other payment details here.

This is a public forum, so for your privacy and security, we can’t help with billing issues here. Also, no one in this forum has access to your account or payment information.

To get help, open the "Get Help" app on your computer (just search for it in the Start menu). or go to https://support.microsoft.com/contactus, Type "Billing" and press Enter. On the next screen, click "Contact support" at the bottom of the page, then choose "Microsoft 365" > "Manage my subscription". You’ll then see the option to chat with a Microsoft support agent who has access to your account to help review the issue.
