Sending, receiving, and organizing email in Outlook.com
Hi Philip Hamilton,
I understand how concerning it can be to see an unfamiliar name attached to your outgoing messages.
To narrow this down, please sign in to Outlook.com, send a test email to another address you control, and check how the sender appears there.
- If the email address is correct and only “USAA Support” is displayed as the sender name, this is most likely a display-name issue rather than your mailbox being changed.
- If the name appears correctly when sending from Outlook.com but incorrectly from the Outlook app, please let us know whether you are using new Outlook or classic Outlook.
- If only certain recipients see “USAA Support,” they may have your email address saved under that name in their contacts.
Since you did not make this change, it would also be a good precaution to review your Microsoft account recent activity and change your password if you see any sign-in that you do not recognize.
Could you confirm where “USAA Support” appears: in your Sent Items, in the message received by another account, or only in Outlook’s contact suggestions? Thank you so much for your understanding.
