Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
If the subscription shows paid through 2027, the reminder is typically caused by cached or mismatched Microsoft 365 license or billing status in the Office apps.
Try these steps:
- Confirm the subscription status shows Active in Services & subscriptions.
- Open Word or another Office app and go to File > Account.
- Use Update License if it appears.
- Sign out of Office completely.
- Close all Office apps.
- Restart the device.
- Open Office again and sign back in with the same Microsoft account that has the active subscription.
Also check whether more than one Microsoft account is signed in on the device. A different personal, work, or school account can cause the app to show the wrong payment or subscription status.
If payment was just processed, status sync can take up to 24 hours across services.

Updated the card and payment has now been processed. My account clearly shows the next payment isn't due until 2027. However, I am still getting messages when opening Microsoft Office applications that there is a payment issue. How can we fix this and get that message to stop?

- Subscription pop-up even after it's been paid - Microsoft Q&A I had a small glitch of less than a few hours because the credit card used for payment wasn't active when the auto renewal for MS365 came due. I fixed it as soon as I got the 1st "pop up" reminder. I've doublechecked and I'm showing as paid in my account. However, I continue to get the MS 365 Subscription has to be paid pop-ups every time I'm working in MS 365. I don't know how to shut it off. Other than the annoying pop-up, 365 is working fine. HOW DO I TURN OFF THE POP UP??
- Why am I still getting 'account problem' notices for Microsoft 365 after updating my credit card information and paying for my subscription? - Microsoft Q&A When my credit card was compromised, I had to renew it, but I did not update the automatic subscription renewal information for Microsoft 365. I received a notice that my subscription payment did not go through as a result. I updated the information for Microsoft, and my account was debited. Even though I paid the subscription, I keep getting 'problem with your account' notifications.
