I’ve have been trying for 8 hours to talk to a real person instead of chat bots and AI voices.

  1. I scheduled a support call and was hung up/disconnected before the issue was resolved.
  2. I scheduled another call and sat on hold until the line dropped.
  3. i scheduled a third call and never received one.
  4. I scheduled a fourth call and was told I had made too many requests and had to wait 24 hours.
  5. I tried to use the live agent chat and was told to wait for a phone call. I am still waiting and haven’t heard from anyone at Microsoft.

The AI customer support voice said the only way to get help is to use the support page. Which I have done. What else do I need to do!?!? I’m going crazy here and need help.

"What else do I need to do?"

    Ask here.

For consumer products, there is basically no phone support anymore.

The fastest way to get help for your problem is to ask a clearly worded question with supporting details.

For a Microsoft personal account, the supported path is the Get Help experience or the Get Help app. If earlier callback attempts failed, use chat directly from the support flow instead of waiting on another automated call.

    Steps:

    1. Open Microsoft support and sign in.
    2. In the support flow, describe the issue.
    3. If self-help does not solve it, select Contact Support.
    4. Choose the affected product or service.
    5. Select Confirm.
    6. If available, choose Chat with a support agent in your web browser.
    7. If chat is not offered, provide a phone number for callback and submit the request.

In the Get Help app on Windows, the same path is available:

    1. Open Get Help.
    2. Search for the issue.
    3. Run any offered troubleshooters.
    4. If the issue persists, select Contact Support.
    5. Choose the product or service, then Confirm.
    6. Choose either:
      • Chat with a support agent in your web browser
      • Provide your phone number and a support agent will call you

Important limits called out by Microsoft:

    • Contact options depend on hours of operation, product, scenario, and subscription.
    • Support agents cannot send password reset links or access and change account details.
    • If sign-in is the problem, use the Microsoft account sign-in helper tool first.

For Microsoft 365 for business, the path is different and requires an admin:

    1. Go to the admin center.
    2. Select Help & support.
    3. Enter the issue.
    4. If needed, select the Contact Support icon.
    5. Choose phone or email and submit the request.
