    Hello,

If you’ve moved to another country and want to pay in its local currency, you’ll need to cancel the Microsoft 365 subscription purchased in your previous country and then buy a new subscription in your current country or region.

    1. First, cancel your Microsoft 365 subscription through your Microsoft account: https://account.microsoft.com/services
    2. After recurring billing has ended and your subscription has expired, you can purchase Microsoft 365 again in your current country or region using the same Microsoft account and payment method. This process will not affect your personal files or apps.

    Alternatively,

    • Please sign in with your Microsoft account on this profile settings page: https://account.microsoft.com/profile
    • Update your country or region, language, and regional format in your Microsoft account profile settings.

Let me know if you still need more help.

The old-country subscription must first be cleared and ended; after it is gone, change the Microsoft account region, add the new-country card, and purchase a new Microsoft 365 subscription.

    Required order

    1. Resolve the past-due balance Because the debt belongs to the old-region subscription, the new-country card might not be accepted for it. If no available payment method can clear the balance, use Contact Support on Microsoft’s region troubleshooting page for account-specific billing help. A balance due can also prevent changing the account’s country or region. ^2^
    2. End the old-region subscription
      • In Services & subscriptions, open the subscription’s Manage options.
      • Cancel it if cancellation is available, or allow it to expire after settling the balance.
      • Wait until the old subscription is no longer active. Microsoft states that a subscription for the new region cannot be purchased while the existing other-region subscription remains. ^2^
    3. Change the Microsoft account country
      • Open the Microsoft account dashboard.
      • Select Your info → Edit profile info.
      • Set Country or region to the country where you now live. ^2^
    4. Add the new-country card
      • Go to the account’s Payment options page.
      • Select Add a new payment method.
      • Enter the card and its new-country billing address exactly as recorded by the bank. Microsoft requires the account country to be changed before adding a payment method for another country, and not every payment method is supported in every region. ^3^
    5. Buy Microsoft 365 in the new region
      • Purchase a new Personal or Family subscription using the new-country store, currency, billing address, and card.
      • This is a new regional purchase rather than a migration of the old subscription.

If Microsoft Support confirms that the past-due charge must be paid in the old region, ask specifically for help resolving the old-region balance so that the subscription can be closed and the regional block removed.
