windows 11 on microsoft - asking me to constantly sign into my saved apps and sites that are saved

Windows 11 on Microsoft laptop keeps asking me to login to all my apps and saved sites. Why??? I ask to remember me, and it doesn't do it anymore. Been happening for 2 months and its exhausting to keep adding my username always at my saved sites. Then get an email asking me if this "unregisterd device was me" How to fix this problem? Thanks

Try these Windows 11 checks in order:

Restart the laptop first A restart can clear temporary sign-in problems. If Windows Update shows pending updates, use Update and restart.
Install the latest Windows updates There is a documented Windows 11 issue where Microsoft account sign-ins can fail in apps and repeatedly prompt for sign-in even when the device is online. This was resolved by later Windows updates. Install the latest updates available for the device.
Use the Microsoft account sign-in helper If the account itself is having trouble, use the Sign-in Helper tool. It checks the email address or phone number used to sign in and identifies common account problems.
If the password is correct but sign-in still keeps failing, recover the account Follow this path:
- Enter the email address, phone number, or Skype name used to sign in.
- Choose where to receive the security code.
- Enter the code.
- Set a new password if prompted. Also verify the sign-in name is exactly correct, including the email domain such as .com vs .co.uk.
If verification prompts or security emails keep appearing Check the verification-code troubleshooting guidance. Repeated prompts can happen when sign-in verification is not completing correctly.
If Microsoft Store purchases are asking for sign-in every time On Windows 11, open Microsoft Store > Profile > App settings > Purchase sign-in and turn it On. This only affects that device and applies to certain in-app purchases.
If the issue is only with Windows sign-in or profile behavior Use the Windows sign-in troubleshooting options for:
- forgotten PIN
- password reset
- verification code issues
- corrupted profile issues

If the problem has been happening for two months even after updates and restart, use Contact Support from Microsoft Support and report that the device repeatedly forgets app and site sign-ins and sends “unregistered device” alerts.

I can understand why this has become exhausting, Maureen Huber.

If multiple websites suddenly stop recording your session, the problem is more likely with how the browser is retaining sign-in cookies/sessions than with each individual website. If you are using Microsoft Edge, I would check this first:

Open Edge > go to edge://settings/privacy/clearBrowsingData/clearOnClose
Make sure all the toggles are OFF for the list of items Edge clears when closes.
Then enter edge://settings/privacy/cookies in the address bar next > make sure:
1. Allow sites to save and read cookie data is ON and Block third-party cookies is OFF
2. There's no sites (especially the affected ones) listed under *Not allowed... *or Clear all...
Go to your Microsoft account's Devices page > see if your laptop appears there as registered.
Also check Settings > Time & language > Date & time > enable automatic time/time zone > Sync now.
In Windows, press Ctrl + Alt + Del > log out > manually log back in with your password (not Windows Hello).

If you're not using Edge, let me know which browser you're using (Chrome, Firefox, etc.). In addition, try creating another browser profile (if it allows you) and signing in from that one to test.
