URGENT: Sole Global Administrator locked out, Microsoft 365 Business support channels unavailable in Australia

I am the sole owner and sole Global Administrator of a new Microsoft 365 Business Standard tenant.

After changing my Microsoft account security information, I am locked out for 30 days. There is no second administrator who can restore access.

I have followed Microsoft's recommended workaround and created a temporary Microsoft 365 trial tenant so I can access the Admin Centre and contact support.

However, the Admin Centre Contact Support function only provides the Australian telephone number 1800 197 503, which is disconnected.

I have also tried Microsoft's published Australian business support number 13 20 58, plus multiple other Microsoft support routes, without being able to create a support case or reach an agent.

My phone number is already correctly registered in my Microsoft 365 admin profile.

I need Microsoft assistance to:

  1. Identify my original Microsoft 365 Business Standard tenant.
  2. Verify that I am the tenant/subscription owner.
  3. Restore access to my sole Global Administrator account.
  4. Escalate this to the Data Protection / Tenant Recovery team if required.

I can provide proof of purchase, billing information, identity and proof of ownership of my business domain amy***.com.au** privately.

Please do not ask me to reset the account through another Global Administrator. There is no other administrator.

This is preventing me from setting up and operating my new Australian business. I need assistance obtaining a Microsoft support case number or escalation to the appropriate recovery team.

    Did you get the license from a reseller? The reseller often has a back channel via their distributors to also assist.

    Typically if the phone lines don't work for whatever reason, the other alternative is to raise a support ticket via web, usually through a working tenant of which you are admin (thus the trial tenant which you setup),

    You seem to have tried to setup a trial tenant, did you manage to find a way to raise a web support ticket as an admin to that trial tenant?

    No. I have tried all of the suggested support routes and still cannot create a support case or reach a human Microsoft support agent.

    I am the sole Global Administrator of the affected Microsoft 365 Business Standard tenant and there is no other administrator who can restore access.

    I have already:

    • created a temporary Microsoft 365 tenant specifically to access support;
    • used the Admin Centre Contact Support process;
    • confirmed my phone number is registered in my admin profile;
    • tried the listed Australian Microsoft support numbers, which either disconnect or direct me back to online support; and
    • exhausted the available self-service recovery options.

    I now need a human Microsoft representative to help me create a service request and escalate the affected tenant to Data Protection / Tenant Recovery for ownership verification and Global Administrator recovery.

    Please do not direct me back to the same telephone numbers, Admin Centre bot or self-service password reset process.
