Zoom is default in meeting invitations. Can I add Teams as an alternative when creating a meeting?

    Hi Wade,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Based on your description, I understand that you would like to have a single meeting invitation containing both Zoom and Microsoft Teams links, with Zoom as the default platform and Teams as a backup option.

You can add both links to the same meeting invitation. However, Outlook typically recognizes only one platform as the primary online meeting. Currently, there is no official option to automatically create both Zoom and Teams meetings as equal alternatives within the same invitation.

    You can follow these steps:

    1. Create a new meeting in Outlook.
    2. Use Zoom for Outlook to add the Zoom meeting details to the invitation.
    3. Then, click New event and create a separate Teams meeting for the same date and time as the Zoom meeting.
    4. Copy the Join the meeting now link from the Teams meeting.
    5. Go back to the Zoom meeting invitation and paste the Teams link into the body of the invitation, clearly indicating that it is provided as a backup option.

I hope this information is helpful.

If you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to share them in the comments on this post so I can continue to support you.

I look forward to continuing the conversation.
