Using New Outlook on Windows for professional communication and productivity
Dear Alex,
From my research, New Outlook for Windows currently doesn't have a setting to edit the sender name for a Gmail account. The name is usually picked up from your Google account when the account is first added, so changes made later in Gmail may not carry over. To pick up your updated name, you can try remove the account and add it again:
- In new Outlook, go to Settings > Accounts > Email accounts.
- Select Manage next to your Gmail account, then choose Remove.
- Add the account again with Add account and sign in to Google.
If the old name still appears, I recommend sharing this as a suggestion with the product team through Help > Feedback > Make a suggestion in new Outlook. You can also post it or vote for an existing idea on the Outlook (new) · Community. The product team is in charge of this site, and they constantly check customer reviews and feedback. The higher the number of votes, the more attention the team will pay to it. Many features are developed and improved based on customer feedback. As a moderator, I will also pass along your feedback to the appropriate team for further consideration. While we don't directly influence product design, user feedback is actively reviewed and helps prioritize future development. If you’re unable to submit feedback yourself, please feel free to reach out to me, and I’ll be happy to submit it on your behalf.
I appreciate your kindness and understanding as we deal with these evolutionary product changes. Please get in touch if you need anything else.
