Use Microsoft’s Contact Support page to request chat with a support agent, but start the security-information replacement or recovery process because an agent cannot bypass identity verification or manually change the account.

Replace the inaccessible verification address

At the Verify your identity screen:

  1. Select I don’t have any of these.
  2. Enter a current email address or mobile number that you can access.
  3. Follow the prompts to replace the old security information.
  4. If all security methods are being replaced, Microsoft requires a 30-day wait before you can sign in with the replacement information. Support cannot shorten this period. ^1^

If that option is unavailable

Use Microsoft’s account-recovery process:

  1. Open the Sign-in Helper from the Personal account section of Microsoft Support.
  2. Enter the personal Microsoft account address you cannot access.
  3. If directed to the recovery form, provide a different working email address where Microsoft can contact you.
  4. Complete the form from a device and location previously used with the account, if possible.
  5. Include as much accurate information as possible:
    • Previous passwords
    • Exact email subject lines
    • Frequent contacts
    • Microsoft purchases or billing details
  6. Microsoft sends the result to the working contact address, normally within 24 hours. If unsuccessful, the form can be submitted up to twice per day. ^2^

If two-step verification was enabled and none of its registered verification methods are accessible, Microsoft states that support cannot bypass it or issue a password-reset link. ^2^

Speak to a support agent

  1. Open Microsoft’s customer-support page.
  2. Select the Personal account tab.
  3. Under Microsoft technical support, choose Get Help.
  4. Enter: Personal Microsoft account — no access to old verification email.
  5. Select Contact Support when offered, then choose the available chat or callback option.

Available contact methods depend on the product and region. An agent can explain the applicable recovery path and account status, but cannot send a password-reset link, retrieve a verification code, or manually replace security information. ^3^

For privacy, remove the telephone number from any public forum post; Microsoft support will request contact information through its secured support workflow.
