Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
- Go to the Manage your payments page of the Microsoft account dashboard and select Investigate to check whether the charge is tied to a Microsoft purchase or subscription.
- Also review Services & subscriptions and Order history on the Microsoft account to look for any matching charge.
- Common causes of unexpected Microsoft charges include:
- recurring billing on a subscription
- a purchase by a family member or someone with access to the card
- a previously declined charge being retried
- a pre-order or split order shipping
- an in-app purchase
- If the charge does not appear on any Microsoft account, contact the bank or card provider immediately and report the card as compromised or stolen to prevent more charges. Disputing the charge alone does not stop future fraudulent charges.
- If the charge is confirmed as unauthorized and tied to Microsoft, contact Microsoft Support through Contact Microsoft Support.
