Hello Microsoft Support Team,

I urgently need assistance recovering access to our Microsoft 365 business tenant.

I previously had full access to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center as a Global Administrator.

However, Microsoft Authenticator was reset, and all previously registered authentication information was lost.

I can no longer complete MFA verification or access the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.

I have confirmed that my account has the Global Administrator role using Microsoft Graph Explorer:

GET /me/memberOf

The response contains the Global Administrator roleTemplateId: 62e90394-69f5-4237-9190-012177145e10

I have already attempted the following:

  • Contacting Microsoft phone support multiple times.
  • Attempting to create a support ticket through the Admin Center.
  • Creating a temporary Microsoft 365 trial tenant, which failed during verification.

None of these attempts were successful.

I do not know whether another Global Administrator is available.

I urgently request assistance from a Microsoft moderator to initiate a support case or escalate this issue to the Microsoft Data Protection / Tenant Recovery team.

I am willing to provide proof of tenant ownership, billing information, and account details through a private message or secure support channel.

Please help me initiate the recovery process as soon as possible.

Thank you.

Hello シンカーミクセル,

I’m sorry to hear that your Global Administrator account is locked out of tenant. I understand how difficult this situation can be, especially when there is no other administrator available to restore access.

For this type of tenant lockout, the Microsoft Data Protection team is the only team can assist with verifying tenant ownership and recovering administrative access, which a support ticket is required.

Since you’re currently unable to access the support portal from the affected tenant, you might consider creating a new Microsoft 365 trial tenant as a temporary way to reach them.

Let me explain what you should do next:

  1. Visit Microsoft 365 Business Plans and Pricing, select an eligible plan, and choose Try for free.
  2. Follow the guided setup process to create a new tenant and administrator account.
  3. Once the new tenant is ready, sign in to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center and go to "Support" > "Help & support" to create a support request. You can also refer to Get support - Microsoft 365 admin for guidance.
    • When you open a support ticket, please make sure to turn off the Support Assistant (AI) in the help panel.  Several customers have reported issues when the Support Assistant is turned on the system sometimes fails to display the “Contact Support” option.  As shown in the screenshot, simply switch Support Assistant > Off, then type your issue description.  Once the AI is off, the “Contact Support” button will appear normally, allowing you to submit a ticket directly.

  4. In your support ticket, clearly explain your situation, and ask to have the case directed to the Data Protection team for assistance with tenant access recovery.

A few important points:

  • The new trial tenant will not provide access to the data or settings of your original tenant. It is only being used as a temporary way to contact Microsoft Support.
  • Microsoft Support may need to verify your identity and your organization's ownership of the affected tenant before access can be restored.
  • Since the request is being submitted from a different tenant, the recovery process may require additional verification.
  • Once the issue has been resolved, remember to cancel the trial subscription if you no longer need it, to avoid unintended charges.

After you regain administrative access, I would also recommend assigning one or two additional Global Administrators to help reduce the risk of a similar lockout in the future.

I sincerely hope this provides you with a path to reach the appropriate support team and regain access to your tenant. If you encounter any difficulties while following these steps, please feel free to reply with what happens and I am here to help.
