OneDrive on Android won't sync

If you've already tried ALL things recommended, how can we assist you?

propose something different than I can find other than:

Common Causes & Quick Fixes

• Check your internet connection: Make sure your Wi-Fi or mobile data is active and working properly. [1, 2]
• Verify auto-upload settings: Open OneDrive, tap your profile or Settings, and ensure Camera upload or auto-sync is turned on. If you use a Samsung device, check Settings > Gallery sync to make sure it is linked properly. [1, 2, 3]
• Disable Battery Saver mode: Battery saver features on Android often block background data and sync processes for apps like OneDrive. [1]
• Check app permissions: Go to Settings > Apps > OneDrive > Permissions and make sure OneDrive has permission to access your storage, photos, and media. [1, 2]
• Clear cache and storage: Go to Settings > Apps > OneDrive > Storage & cache, tap Clear cache, and restart the app. [1, 2]
• Sign out and back in: Tap your profile in the OneDrive app, go to Settings > Account > Sign out, restart your phone, and sign back in to force a refresh. [1]
• Check your Microsoft storage space: If your OneDrive or Outlook storage limit is full, new files will stop syncing and uploading. You can check your remaining space or manage files directly via Microsoft OneDrive. [1]
• Reinstall the app: If the issue persists, uninstall OneDrive from your phone, restart the device, and download the latest version fresh from the Google Play Store. [1, 2, 3]

Our Android phones perform the synching - not Microsoft. (I have the Samsung Galaxy S26.) If you're having trouble with synching, I suggest asking in Google's official Android Help Community.

Hi, @John Doke

To help narrow down the issue:

1. What exactly happens when you try to sync OneDrive? For example, does it show an error message, remain stuck on “Syncing,” or fail to upload or download files?
2. Are you experiencing this with all files or only specific files?.

Please also share the error message or a screenshot if one appears.

Thanks!
