I need help understanding why I can't log in to some of my email accounts Via iPhone mail app. Every time I try it always ends in something went wrong.

To help narrow this down:

Are these newly added email accounts on your iPhone, or were they previously working in the Mail app?
Does this affect only Outlook/Hotmail accounts, or other email providers as well?

Microsoft has documented an issue affecting Outlook and Hotmail accounts in the iPhone/iPad Mail app. Please check this article for more information:

In the meantime, have you tried adding the affected accounts to the Outlook mobile app? Here's the link to try https://aka.ms/OutlookMobile

The accounts are years old and hotmail ones are mainly effected I could not get any of them to work

May I know when was the last time you were able to access that Microsoft account?

I ask because Microsoft may permanently close accounts that haven’t been used for over 2 years. Microsoft’s account activity policy is here: https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/manage/microsoft-account-activity-policy

I never used that just the default mail app

Just a test to check whether it is related to the account issue or the default mail app. Could you try https://outlook.live.com/mail first?

If you can access it via Outlook Web, could you provide the exact error message you're seeing in the default mail app?

I can log in VIA site no problem it's the app that I can't use.
