A fully managed end-to-end service for digitally signing code, documents, and applications. (formerly Trusted Signing)
The application should remain unchanged while its status is In Progress; the October 28–November 4 interval is only about five business days, and Artifact Signing validation reviews can take 1–20 business days.
What to do now
- Do not create another identity-validation request. Microsoft states that duplicate requests for an entity already under review do not help, and validation cannot be expedited.^1^
- Do not upload the document again unless the status changes to Action Required or Microsoft requests it by email.
- Monitor:
- Azure portal → Artifact Signing account → Objects → Identity validations
- The primary and secondary email addresses, including spam and filtering systems.
- If more documentation is needed, the portal changes to Action Required and Microsoft sends an email. After the review finishes, the status changes to Completed or Failed, with an email notification.^2^
The portal’s “In Progress more than 7 days” category does not mean the application is outside a 1–20 business-day review window. October 28 through November 4 spans seven calendar days but only about five weekdays.
Obtaining a private status review
The documented assistance channels are Azure Support and Microsoft Q&A with the Artifact Signing tag.^1^ Since the Basic plan does not include technical-support tickets, this Q&A post is the available escalation route unless the organization has another eligible support entitlement. Azure requires a technical support plan for technical cases; free support requests cover subscription-management matters rather than product-specific validation investigations.^3^
For the Q&A route:
- Keep the identity-validation ID, subscription ID, documents, and organization details out of the public thread.
- Ask an Artifact Signing moderator or support engineer to initiate a private exchange if account-specific review is needed.
- Provide the validation ID only through the private mechanism they supply.
- A private review through Q&A is possible when a Microsoft representative engages, as shown in comparable cases where validation details were collected privately and reviewed.^4^ However, Q&A cannot guarantee expedited processing, and the FAQ explicitly states that identity validation cannot be expedited.
If no Microsoft representative initiates a private exchange after the normal review window, the remaining supported option is an Azure technical support request under an eligible support plan or an existing organizational support agreement. Creating tickets through the Support REST API does not bypass this requirement; ticket creation requires an eligible support plan and the appropriate subscription-level role.^5^
No further action is currently indicated because the portal remains In Progress, not Action Required, and the elapsed period is still within the stated business-day processing range.
