A Microsoft offering that enables tracking of cloud usage and expenditures for Azure and other cloud providers.
Open the grant’s billing profile in Cost Management + Billing, then view Billing → Payment methods → Azure Credits; the balance is displayed only under the billing account or profile associated with that nonprofit grant.^1^
Select the correct billing scope
Since refreshing and signing in again did not help:
- In the Azure portal, search for Cost Management + Billing.
- On Overview, select Switch scope.
- This option is absent if the account can access only one scope.
- Open each available billing account or billing profile associated with the nonprofit organization.
- Under the selected scope, go to Billing → Payment methods → Azure Credits.
- Allow the Azure Credits tab time to load.
Azure accounts can expose multiple billing accounts, each with separate billing data. The selected scope therefore determines whether the grant balance is visible.^2^
Use the administrator account associated with the grant. If the relevant billing scope is missing entirely, ask that billing account’s administrator to grant access; access to one subscription or billing account does not imply access to every billing scope.^2^
If this is a legacy sponsorship
If the billing account is a legacy Microsoft Online Services Agreement sponsorship—including applicable China and India grants—the balance is not shown through the modern Azure Credits experience. View it in the Azure Sponsorships portal using the account-owner credentials used during grant setup, commonly the corresponding .onmicrosoft.com account. That portal displays the remaining balance, usage, and expiration date.^1^
To identify the account type:
- Go to Cost Management + Billing.
- If there is one scope, select Properties and inspect Type.
- If there are multiple scopes, select Billing scopes and inspect the Billing account type column.^2^
If both MOSP and MCA scopes appear
A closely matching nonprofit case was resolved after Microsoft Support moved the subscription from the old MOSP billing account to the newer MCA account. The symptom included two billing scopes and a balance that appeared only after the account migration.^3^
Do not attempt to delete or recreate the subscription. Instead:
- In Azure, open Help + support.
- Select New support request.
- Choose the Billing or Subscription management issue type.
- Include:
- The grant offer name.
- The billing account types shown under Billing scopes.
- The expected billing profile.
- A screenshot showing the missing Azure Credits tab or balance.
- Whether both MOSP and MCA scopes are present.
Azure provides subscription-management support, including billing and account-transfer matters, without requiring a technical support plan.^4^
