Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
Use Microsoft’s official customer-support directory to call the billing number listed for your country or request a telephone callback through Contact Support.^1^
Speak to a person by phone
- Open the Microsoft customer-support phone directory.
- Find your country or region.
- Call one of the listed numbers and ask for Microsoft 365 home subscription billing and refunds.
- Have the following ready:
- The Microsoft account used for the purchase
- Subscription or order details
- Charge date and amount
- Payment method’s last four digits
Microsoft’s numbers vary by country. For example, the directory currently lists 855-270-0615, 800-865-9408, and 800-642-7676 as toll-free options in the United States. Use the directory rather than a search-engine result to obtain the current number for your location.^1^
Request a callback instead
If the direct number does not route you to billing:
- Open Contact Microsoft customer support.
- Select Personal account or the Get help option.
- Sign in using the Microsoft account that purchased Microsoft 365.
- Enter Microsoft 365 billing refund — speak to an agent by phone.
- Select Contact Support.
- Choose Microsoft 365 and Office and then Manage my subscription.
- Select the telephone or request a callback option if offered.
Available contact methods depend on the product, issue, location, and support hours; the workflow may offer chat when telephone support is unavailable.^2^
Important refund requirement
If Microsoft billed the subscription directly, refund eligibility is normally determined when the subscription is cancelled:
- Sign in to Services & subscriptions with the purchasing Microsoft account.
- Find Microsoft 365 and select Manage.
- Select Cancel or Upgrade or Cancel.
- Follow the prompts and review the refund result.
Not every cancellation generates a refund. Microsoft states that refunds are generally available within 30 days of the initial purchase or before the first recurring billing date, whichever comes first. The most recent recurring charge may also qualify when cancellation occurs within 30 days after payment, subject to the stated limits and regional rules.[^3^](https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "Microsoft subscription refund policy | Microsoft Support")
If the subscription was purchased through the Apple App Store, contact Apple for the refund instead; using Microsoft 365 on a Mac does not by itself mean Apple processed the purchase. Subscriptions purchased through another retailer must be handled by that seller.[^4^](https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "Unable to cancel your Microsoft subscription | Microsoft Support")
