Forms were created in Sharepoint and while I can access the details of completed forms I am wanting to go back to the form and make some edits to the questions. I can figure out how to do this.

    Dear Tammy Hollands,

If the form was created in a SharePoint document library, you can edit it from there:

    1. Open your SharePoint site and go to Documents.
    2. Select Forms on the toolbar at the top of the library.
    3. Select the form you want to edit.
    4. Make your changes to the questions, then save.

    Untitled

If your form is displayed on a SharePoint page through the Microsoft Forms web part, you can edit it from there:

    1. Open the SharePoint page that contains the form and select Edit at the top right.
    2. Select the Microsoft Forms web part, then select Properties (the pencil icon).
    3. In the panel on the right, select Edit current form. Microsoft Forms will open in a new browser tab, where you can edit, add, or reorder your questions.
    4. Return to the SharePoint page, select OK in the properties panel, and republish the page if prompted.

Please note that deleting a question may also delete the responses already collected for it. If you need to keep earlier answers, it is safer to keep the existing question and add a new one.

If Edit current form is not available, being able to view the responses does not always mean you can edit the form. You need to be the form owner or an assigned co-author. In that case, please ask the owner to open the form in Microsoft Forms, select Share, and under Add collaborators, give your account permission to view and edit. They can then send you the collaboration link.

I hope this helps. Please feel free to reply below if you have any update or further concern.

I am looking forward to your response!

Edit the form from the SharePoint page by opening the Microsoft Forms web-part properties and selecting Edit current form.

    Edit the questions

    1. Open the SharePoint page containing the form.
    2. Select Edit in the upper-right corner of the page.
    3. Select the Microsoft Forms web part that displays the form.
    4. Select Properties (the pencil/edit-web-part icon).
    5. In the right-hand panel, select Edit current form.
    6. Microsoft Forms opens in a new browser tab. Edit, add, or reorder the questions there.
    7. Return to SharePoint, select OK in the Forms properties panel, and republish the SharePoint page if prompted. The updated form should then appear on the page. ^1^

Important: Deleting a question permanently deletes the response data collected for that question. If previous answers must be retained, avoid deleting it; consider keeping the existing question and adding a replacement instead. ^2^

If “Edit current form” is unavailable

Seeing completed-form details or a response summary does not necessarily provide permission to edit the questions. You must be the form owner or an assigned co-author.

    Ask the owner to:

    1. Open the form in Microsoft Forms.
    2. Select More form settings → Collaborate or Duplicate. If that option is not displayed, select Share.
    3. Under Add collaborators, select an appropriate permission, such as Specific people in my organization can view and edit.
    4. Add your account and send you the collaboration link.

A co-author using that link can edit both the questions and response data, although only the owner can change the collaboration permission level. ^3^

If the form does not use the Microsoft Forms web part, ask the owner to open it directly in Microsoft Forms and provide the collaboration link. Access to the SharePoint site alone does not establish Forms editing permission.
