I got a notification that the Dataverse capacity has been exceeded but I do not use the Power platform. Do I need to do anything further? How can I stop getting this message?

    Hi Yuttam,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

This situation can still occur even if you do not actively use Power Platform. The notification is based on the total Microsoft Dataverse capacity used across the entire tenant, not only on the activity of the person receiving the email.

    Some possible reasons include:

    • The tenant previously created an environment, application, flow, or trial associated with Power Apps, Power Automate, or Dynamics 365.
    • An administrator or another user in the organization created a Dataverse environment.
    • A Microsoft application or service automatically created an environment and stored data in it.

When the tenant exceeds its allocated capacity, certain environment management operations may be affected, and the organization may be unable to create new environments. Please contact the tenant administrator, usually the organization’s IT department, to review and free up capacity by following these steps:

1/ Go to the Power Platform admin center.

    2/ Open Licensing > Dataverse.

    User's image

3/ Review the three capacity categories separately: Database, File, and Log.

4/ Identify which environment is using the most capacity.

5/ Review the owner, applications, flows, data tables, and audit logs in that environment.

6/ If the environment is no longer needed, the administrator can back up the data if necessary and then delete the environment or any unused data.

7/ If the data is still required, the organization can free up capacity by deleting unnecessary data or purchasing additional Dataverse capacity.

I hope this information is helpful.

If you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to share them in the comments on this post so I can continue to support you.

I look forward to continuing the conversation.
