Microsoft has not published a date for New Outlook to add or “fix” an iCloud-only Contacts/People view.
New Outlook for Windows supports adding an iCloud account, but Microsoft’s current feature comparison does not identify an account-level People filter that limits the contact list exclusively to iCloud contacts.^1^ The New Outlook release notes through October 2026 also contain no announced iCloud-only contact filter or delivery date.^2^
What you can do now
- Ensure the iCloud account itself is added to New Outlook:
- Open View settings or File > Account info.
- Select Accounts > Your accounts > Add Account.
- Enter the iCloud email address and complete Apple authentication.^3^
- Open People and check whether the iCloud account or contact folder appears as a selectable source. If it does, select it; however, this is not the same as a documented global setting that permanently hides every non-iCloud contact source.
- If the iCloud contacts do not appear at all, that is a synchronization/configuration issue rather than the missing iCloud-only filter. Microsoft documents iCloud for Windows synchronization for Outlook for Microsoft 365 and classic Outlook:
- Install and open iCloud for Windows.
- Sign in with the Apple Account containing the contacts.
- Enable Contacts and Calendars.
- Select Apply, then reopen Outlook.^4^
Practical workaround
If the requirement is to use only iCloud Contacts as the address book, Classic Outlook currently provides the more specific controls:
- Go to People.
- Right-click iCloud Contacts and select Properties.
- On Outlook Address Book, enable Show this folder as an e-mail Address Book.
- Open Home > Address Book > Tools > Options.
- Under Show this address list first, select iCloud Contacts.^5^
This sets the default address list in Classic Outlook; it does not add the equivalent filtering control to New Outlook.
For the missing New Outlook capability, submit the request through Help > Give Feedback. Microsoft specifically directs New Outlook feature requests there and states that feedback influences its roadmap.^1^
