I registered to 1 month free trial Personal Microsoft 365 in Oct 23, ending Nov 23. I would then pay for my personal registration. In Oct 30 I was invited to a Family Premium Account owned by Bob Tribe and I accepted. I have canceled my personal Microsoft 365 so that I join the family. But I could not cancel my 1-month free trial period.

Can you please transfer me into the Family Premium smoothly from my free trial?

Your Personal trial does not need to be manually transferred: ensure recurring billing is off, let the trial expire on the displayed date, and accept the Family/Premium invitation using the same Microsoft account.

    Complete the change

    1. Open Services & subscriptions and sign in with the Microsoft account used for the Personal trial.
    2. Find the trial and check its status:
      • Turn on recurring billing appears: cancellation is already complete. The trial will expire on the displayed date, and you will not be charged.
      • Paid with: None and an Expires on date appear: the trial will expire automatically with no charge.
      • Cancel appears: select it and complete the prompts.
Microsoft confirms that an expiring trial can remain usable until its expiration date even though future billing has been stopped.[^1^](https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "Cancel your free trial of Microsoft 365 | Microsoft Support")
    3. Ensure the Family/Premium invitation was accepted using that same Microsoft account:
    4. Ask the subscription owner to check the Microsoft 365 sharing dashboard. Your invitation should no longer show as pending. Only the subscription owner can manage sharing, and shared benefits become available after the invited person selects Join now.[^3^](https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "Troubleshoot sharing a Microsoft 365 subscription")

Your documents and OneDrive files remain associated with your Microsoft account; there is no separate file transfer to perform. You also should not need to reinstall the desktop applications when switching between these Microsoft 365 home subscriptions.[^4^](https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "Switch between Microsoft 365 subscriptions")

If the Family/Premium benefits still do not appear

    • Confirm that the invitation and trial use the same Microsoft account.
    • If you belong to another Microsoft family group, leave that group before joining the new one.
    • Ask the owner to remove the pending share and send a new invitation if necessary.
    • If the trial has expired but the shared subscription still is not attached, use Contact Support on Microsoft’s invitation-support page; support must inspect the account-specific subscription state.[^2^](https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "Someone invited you to share their Microsoft 365 subscription")

If no cancellation controls are shown because the trial was purchased through Apple, Google, or another retailer, it must instead be managed through that seller.[^5^](https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "Unable to cancel your Microsoft subscription | Microsoft Support")
