My Microsoft account has been locked (and which I think is automatically), because I had gained access to it after forgetting my password. I was able to gain access to it using a generated code from Microsoft Authenticator the same day, and the same day it got automatically locked after just a few hours. It’s already been 3 months that my Hotmail account has been locked. Please help! I have filled out the reinstatement form and gotten an email but after I sent a respond .. I haven’t gotten an email from them there after. It’s very important that I get access to my Microsoft email account again as I have some saved school course works in there.

Thank you !

For a Microsoft account that stays locked after a password reset or successful verification, the supported paths are limited:

    1. Try signing in at https://account.microsoft.com.
      • If Let’s prove you’re human appears, complete that flow to unlock the account.
    2. If that option does not appear, the account was locked due to suspicious activity or a Terms of Use review.
      • Use the aka.ms/ link shown in the lock message window and complete the account reinstatement process.
      • After submitting the reinstatement form, do not submit additional requests, because that can slow the response.
    3. If access to verification methods is the problem, use the Microsoft account sign-in helper first.
    4. If the recovery form was already submitted:
      • Recovery results are sent to the working email address provided in the form within 24 hours.
      • If Microsoft cannot verify the account, the form can be retried up to two times per day.
    5. If two-step verification was turned on and none of the alternate verification methods are accessible, support cannot reset the account or change account details.
    6. If a Microsoft Online Safety support agent already replied to the reinstatement request, watch the inbox and junk/spam folders of the contact email used on the form. Support agents can only continue account access actions through the reinstatement or recovery process.
    7. If a verification code arrives unexpectedly, do not use it unless it was requested. Unrequested codes can mean someone else is trying to access the account, or a previous code was delayed.
