I've asked before and tried everything that any site or person suggested. Microsoft will not accept the city I live in. What is a customer support number to call or email? They have sent a million threatening emails to cut service without payment - but I can't fix this issue and they will not accept payment without the address. I would like to continue with Microsoft, but I'm looking into alternative word programs at this point.

Contact Microsoft’s account and billing support through the official Get Help process and request chat or a callback, because the address for an active Microsoft 365 subscription may require account-specific assistance.

    Contact billing support

    1. Open Microsoft’s official support page: ^1^
    2. Under Microsoft technical support, select Get help.
    3. Enter: Microsoft 365 billing address rejects my city and I cannot pay.
    4. Select Contact Support when offered.
    5. Sign in with the Microsoft account that owns the subscription.
    6. Choose:
      • Microsoft 365 and Office
      • Subscription, account, billing
    7. Select Chat or Request a callback, depending on what is available in your region and at that time.

Microsoft does not publish one universal billing-support email address. The same official page lists telephone numbers by country or region; use the number shown for your location rather than a number supplied in an email.^1^

    Tell the representative:

    • The city name that Microsoft rejects.
    • The exact validation message.
    • That the address matches the card issuer’s billing records.
    • Whether you moved to a different country or only to another city.
    • That payment is blocked and the subscription is at risk of suspension.

Do not include your full card number in chat; provide payment details only through Microsoft’s secured interface when instructed.

    Important address limitation

Changing the address in the Microsoft account address book affects new purchases, not an existing active subscription. Microsoft states that an active subscription continues to display its previous billing address; changing that address can require canceling the subscription, updating the address, and then repurchasing.^2^

Do not cancel immediately if uninterrupted Word access matters. Ask billing support whether they can correct the rejected city or process payment first. If they confirm that the active-subscription limitation applies, ask them to explain the expiration date and service impact before cancellation and repurchase.

    Treat the payment emails cautiously

Because billing-themed phishing messages occur, do not use links or telephone numbers in those emails. Open Microsoft Support directly and verify the subscription status there. Microsoft specifically recommends going directly to the bank’s or Microsoft’s site when a non-payment message may be suspicious.^3^
