An Azure platform as a service offer that is used to deploy web and cloud applications.
Open the dedicated billing-support request page, then use Return to support request after recommendations load to bypass the point where Next appears unresponsive.
Submit the billing request through the alternate flow
Since the ordinary Help + Support form and telephone channels have already failed, use this direct Azure billing-request entry point:
https://portal.azure.com/#view/Microsoft_Azure_GTM/ModernBillingMenuBlade/~/supportrequest
- Enter the Summary, then select:
- Problem type: Manage Payment Methods
- Problem subtype: Switch to pay by invoice as my default payment method
- Select Next and wait several seconds for the recommended solutions to appear.
- Do not select a recommended solution.
- Select Return to support request in the upper-left corner.
- Select Next again. This should advance to Additional details.
- Complete the contact details, review the request, and select Create. This exact workaround has been used for the same support-form blockage.^1^
Billing and subscription-management support is available without purchasing a technical support plan.^2^
Prepare the information Microsoft requests for wire-transfer approval:
- Existing-customer status and current payment method
- Azure order ID
- Account administrator’s company-domain account
- Commerce/billing account ID
- Registered company name and address
- Company website, country/region, and tax/VAT ID
- Year established and previous business with Microsoft
- Finance or Accounts Payable contact details
- Business justification
- Government-issued company registration or equivalent legal document
Do not post subscription IDs, billing IDs, tax details, or documents in this public Q&A thread.
Check whether the Azure billing account supports direct approval
The path depends on the Azure billing account type, not merely on the tenant also containing Microsoft 365 subscriptions.
Go to Cost Management + Billing → Settings → Properties and check Billing account type.^3^
If it says Microsoft Customer Agreement
A support request might not be necessary:
- Open Cost Management + Billing → Billing profiles.
- Select the applicable billing profile.
- Select Payment methods.
- At the top, select Request approval to pay by wire transfer or Apply to pay by wire transfer.
- Review the eligibility result displayed in the side panel.^4^
After approval:
- Return to Billing profile → Payment methods.
- Under Other payment methods, open the ellipsis (...) beside wire transfer.
- Select Make default.
Only the person who originally signed up for Azure can change the billing profile’s default payment method.^3^
If it is Microsoft Online Subscription Program/pay-as-you-go
The billing-support request is the documented approval path, so use the alternate flow above. Approval requires an established customer history of at least six months, no outstanding balances, and spending above a location-dependent threshold. Prior Microsoft 365 business can be included in the application, but it does not itself guarantee approval.^3^
Switching has an important consequence: wire transfer generally cannot later be replaced by a credit or debit card as the recurring payment method, although one-time card payments remain possible.^3^
If the alternate flow still cannot create a case
Azure supports programmatic ticket creation through the Azure Support REST API and Azure CLI.^2^ However, the exact service-classification values and request payload for this invoice-approval category are not specified in the available billing guidance, so this is an advanced fallback rather than an immediately executable substitute.
A Microsoft Q&A moderator cannot approve wire-transfer eligibility. Keep the public post free of confidential data; approval and any requested legal or financial documents must be handled through an Azure Billing case.
