Sign in to the Minecraft Launcher, Microsoft Store, and Xbox app with the same Microsoft account, then repair the Xbox/Store components that provide the launcher’s Windows sign-in flow.^1^
Since restarting and deleting the launcher’s AppData files did not help, do not repeat those steps.
Repair the Store/Xbox sign-in path
- Synchronize the Windows clock
- Open Start → Settings → Time & Language → Date & time.
- Enable Set time automatically and Set time zone automatically.
- Select Sync now, if shown.
Incorrect time or time-zone settings can interfere with Microsoft sign-in.^2^
- Check the Microsoft Store account
- Open Microsoft Store and select the account/profile icon.
- Sign in with the Microsoft account that owns Minecraft.
- Open the Xbox app and sign in with that same account.
- If Xbox requests components such as Xbox Identity Provider or other gaming dependencies, allow them to install.^1^
- Clear the Microsoft Store cache
- Press Windows+R.
- Enter
wsreset.exe and select OK.
- A blank Command Prompt window should appear briefly and Microsoft Store should then open automatically.^3^
- Sign in to the Store again, then test the Xbox app before reopening Minecraft Launcher.
- Repair, then reset, the affected apps
- Open Start → Settings → Apps → Apps & features.
- Select Xbox → Advanced options → Repair.
- Test Xbox sign-in. If it still fails, return to that page and select Reset.
- Repeat for Microsoft Store and Minecraft Launcher, where those options are available.
Repair attempts to preserve app data; Reset restores the app to its defaults and may remove its local data.^4^
- Open Microsoft Store → See more (…) → Downloads and updates → Get updates. Install available updates for Microsoft Store, Xbox, Gaming Services, and Minecraft Launcher.^5^
If Xbox sign-in still reports no Internet
- Temporarily disable any VPN or manually configured proxy. For the proxy, check Settings → Network & Internet → Proxy.
- Open Settings → Gaming → Xbox Networking.
- Let the check complete. If Server connectivity is shown as Blocked, use the Xbox network/Teredo troubleshooting steps.^6^
If Xbox Networking is not blocked but Microsoft Store and Xbox both still fail, reset the network stack. Open Command Prompt as administrator, then run:
netsh winsock reset
netsh int ip reset
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flushdns
Restart afterward—the restart is required to apply these new network-stack changes, rather than repeating the restart you already tried. Microsoft documents these commands in this order for Windows connectivity problems.^7^
Last diagnostic
If Microsoft Store and Xbox sign-in both fail, but browser sign-in works, test a new local Windows profile:
- Go to Settings → Accounts → Other users → Add account.
- Choose I don’t have this person’s sign-in information → Add a user without a Microsoft account.
- Sign into that Windows profile and test Microsoft Store/Xbox sign-in.
If it works there, the original profile’s Windows authentication state is damaged; moving to the new profile is the practical fix. If it also fails there, the problem is system-wide and requires Windows repair or Microsoft Support rather than another Minecraft reinstall.^8^
Also note that free Windows 10 updates and technical support ended on October 14, 2025; moving to Windows 11 is recommended if the PC supports it.^2^
