I purchased Microsoft student edition in January 2025 alongwith my new Macbook Air and it was working perfectly fine till today. Suddenly today it is asking me to activate my MS word and Excel and asking me to subscribe to some plan for payment. When I checked my microsoft account, it shows my subscription clearly. So I downloaded and installed the MS office 365 for my Macbook once again, but the problem is persisting.. what is the solution? why payment is being asked for when I have already paid

Okay, that is frustrating, that process should work, this forum is just a user to user forum, no-one here has any account access, you will need to contact Microsoft Support directly, try using this method to contact their support.

    Go to this link: https://support.microsoft.com/contactus

    Select Microsoft 365

    Click 'Get Home Support'.

In the box provided, type billing.

Press Enter, then on the next page, scroll down and click 'Sign in to Contact Support'.

Navigate to Microsoft 365 and Office - Manage my Subscription.

Select the 'Chat with support agent in web browser' option

I tried both the option 2 and 3 - Used Microsoft removal tool and deleted and downloaded from the microsoft website the student edition which was against my subscription and Installed - means downloaded the file and then installed it, which updated after installation using the microsoft autoupdate in Mac, and when I tried Word or Excel, was giving the same issue - asking me to activate my licence.. Dont understand why suddenly this is happening

There are some ongoing problems with the Office apps on an Apple Mac device at the moment.

    1

What version of Microsoft Office do you have, is that a subscription to Microsoft 365 or a standalone version of Office like Office 2019, 2021 or 2024.

    2

At the top left of your Mac desktop, click the Apple icon and select 'About this Mac', what version of MacOS is installed on your computer?
