Hi

Microsoft Windows 10 lately has been trying repeatedly in the background to install the update patch related to my Phone L:ink I think and all failed. I don't know what is exactly wrong with the installation. Is this update really critical ? Does anyone know how to solve this problem ? Note, Microsoft Windows 10 support for my PC had ended in October 2025. I also attach a copy of the Reliability Monitor Chart report on the recent failed installation attempt of 9NTXGKQ8P7N0 patch:

Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80073D02: 9NTXGKQ8P7N0-MicrosoftWindows.CrossDevice.

    get-appxpackage -allusers MicrosoftWindows.CrossDevice | remove-appxpackage -allusers

Google AI says that your above suggest command is likely to fail because it requires the exact version number and full package code. Instead it suggested to use the following commands to reinstall the package:

Screenshot (23556) But, I don't know if the the command is safe to use as it could includes many files within the * * marks.

Further, now I get a new error code in Reliability Monitor chart when the PC tries to install the package 9NTXGKQ8P7N0:

Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80073D02: 9NTXGKQ8P7N0-MicrosoftWindows.CrossDevice.

    Hi,

Error 0x80073D02 means "The package is currently in use by a running process". Please try uninstalling and reinstalling the MicrosoftWindows.CrossDevice package.

Open PowerShell (admin) and run this command:

    get-appxpackage -allusers MicrosoftWindows.CrossDevice | remove-appxpackage -allusers

The above command uninstalls MicrosoftWindows.CrossDevice completely.

To reinstall it, run this command:

    winget install 9NTXGKQ8P7N0

If you get any errors, post the error message or screenshot here.

Note, Microsoft Windows 10 support for my PC had ended in October 2025

Enroll the system in the Windows 10 Consumer ESU program so that you'll get the security updates till October 2027. See Windows 10 Extended Security Updates | Microsoft Windows
