Welcome Barbara Smith,
Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A Forum. I understand you are unable to pair your mouse with your laptop.
Does your mouse have a Bluetooth pairing button or Bluetooth symbol underneath it? When you try to pair it, does the mouse appear under available Bluetooth devices in Windows?
In the meantime, you can try these steps:
1, Remove any existing entry for the mouse
- Go to Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices
- If the mouse is listed, select the three dots next to it and choose Remove device
- Select Add device and try adding the mouse again
2, Update the Bluetooth adapter driver
- Right-click Start and select Device Manager
- Expand Bluetooth
- Right-click your Bluetooth adapter and select Update driver
- Select Search automatically for drivers and follow the prompts
3, If updating the driver does not help, reinstall the Bluetooth adapter
- Open Device Manager and expand Bluetooth
- Right-click the Bluetooth adapter and select Uninstall device
- Restart the laptop. Windows should attempt to reinstall the driver automatically
Looking forward to your update.
