I never sign out of MSN News, so why am I required to sign in again for every comment I wish to post?

After accessing MSN News via Google, and signing in, when I read an article and wish to comment, I am required to sign in again. I never sign out, but I am required to close the comments, sign in, then return to the comments. Every article requires that I sign in again, over and over and over. When I open it with Microsoft Edge, I am automatically signed in and when I comment it states "Session expired. Sing in here." When I select "Sign in here." it takes me to Community Guidelines, not the sign in page. I return to MSN News and am automatically signed in again. But still can not comment.

This behavior usually points to one of two issues:

    1. Microsoft Edge is not persisting cookies or sign-in sessions across page loads or browser restarts.
    2. Cached credentials or authentication tokens are stale, which can cause repeated sign-in prompts and "Session expired" errors.

    Try these checks in order:

    1. In Edge, open edge://settings/privacy/clearBrowsingData/clearOnClose. Turn off Cookies and other site data and any other items that are being cleared when Edge closes.
    2. Open edge://settings/content/cookies. Make sure Allow sites to save and read cookie data is turned on. Review the Block and Clear on close lists and remove the affected site if it appears there.
    3. Open edge://settings/privacy/trackingPrevention. Temporarily set Tracking prevention to Basic and test commenting again. If that helps, switch back to Balanced and add the affected sign-in domain to the exceptions list at edge://settings/privacy/trackingPreventionExceptions.
    4. Clear stale sign-in data:
      • Go to edge://settings/privacy
      • Under Clear browsing data, select Choose what to clear
      • Select Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files
      • Set Time range to All time
      • Select Clear now
      • Restart Edge
Note: clearing cookies signs out of websites.
    5. After restarting, go to edge://settings/profiles and sign in again.
    6. Check whether Edge is being controlled by policy:
      • Open edge://policy
      • Look for cookie-related policies such as DefaultCookiesSetting, CookiesBlockedForUrls, CookiesSessionOnlyForUrls, ClearBrowsingDataOnExit, or SaveCookiesOnExit
      • If these are set by an organization, the administrator must change them.
    7. Verify the system clock and time zone are correct. Clock drift can affect session persistence.

If the issue is specific to MSN article comments, the available guidance for MSN commenting problems is to use the Feedback option at the bottom of the MSN page, because MSN comment moderation and comment support are handled outside Microsoft Learn Q&A.
