My Microsoft account is registered as 18 or older and is not in a Microsoft family group. All Xbox privacy settings are greyed out, and the page says I don't have permission to edit them. This prevents me from using text chat in Minecraft Java Edition. I've tried the Xbox support Virtual Agent, but it only gives automated answers. How can I get my Xbox account permissions fixed?

Before we proceed further, can you please try this in InPrivate mode to see if it helps.
Additionally, you can create an adult account and add your account in the Family group, then you can try to switch the settings from the new accounts.
