AADSTS5000228: Access to newly created tenant is denied.

Hi.
I wanted to activate P2 trial for my existing Azure account. However, following the process I believe Azure did not allow to activate the free trial on my existing account and created a new account (with ID ******@domain.onmicrosoft.com).

After I entered all details required (including credit card information) I got a confirmation that the account was created.

But when I try to login, I get the error "AADSTS5000228: Access to 'xxxxxx' tenant is denied. Please contact your administrator."

I saw on another post that I should call MS support to open a case. But isn't there an easier way than explaining all through the phone? I should be able to open a help request on my existing free pay as you go tenant for this using Billing or subscription management selections according to MS documentation. But no matter what I select, I never reach the screen to open a request and get only default "solutions" that are useless. Is that expected?

I need to know two things:

Was this new azure tenant really created? If so it will bill me in one month. So, I need to access it to use the service or cancel it.

What is the easiest way to get access to this newly created tenant? (no calling support preferably?)

Thanks.

Likely cause: the new trial created a tenant/subscription, but your sign-in is landing in the wrong directory context (or the tenant provisioning is incomplete), which can produce AADSTS5000228.

    1. Verify whether the subscription/tenant was actually created.
      • In Azure portal, open Subscriptions and check whether a new subscription appears.
      • In Entra/Azure, confirm the tenant ID and tenant domain list for your account.
      • Why: this distinguishes "provisioned but inaccessible" vs "not created".
    2. Re-authenticate directly against the expected tenant.
      • Sign out everywhere, open an InPrivate browser window, and sign in again.
      • Try a tenant-scoped sign-in endpoint instead of relying on cached context.
      • Why: stale sessions commonly keep users in a different tenant and trigger access-denied flows.
    3. Check directory selection after sign-in.
      • After portal login, use Switch directory and select the newly created tenant (if visible).
      • If not visible, list tenants from CLI and confirm whether the tenant exists under your account.
    4. If the new trial tenant exists but remains inaccessible, open a billing/subscription support request for tenant access recovery.
      • Include: tenant name (onmicrosoft.com), tenant ID (if visible), UTC timestamp of signup, and correlation/request IDs from the error page.
      • Request validation of tenant ownership mapping for your Microsoft account.
    5. To avoid unexpected billing while access is unresolved.
      • If you can see the subscription, cancel it from the portal.
      • Note: final bill can arrive after billing cycle closes; cancellation is not always immediate data deletion.

    Validation checks:

    • You can sign in and switch into the new tenant.
    • Subscription is visible under that tenant.
    • You can create a support request from that subscription scope.
