Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
Possible causes for a charge like MICROSOFT*MICROSOFT 36 MICROSOFT.COMWA include:
- A Microsoft subscription renewed automatically because recurring billing is enabled.
- A purchase was made by someone with access to the card, such as a family member.
- A previously declined charge was processed again.
- A pre-order or split order was shipped and billed.
- An in-app purchase was made from an app, game, or Office app.
To identify it:
- Go to the Microsoft account Manage your payments page and select Investigate if the charge is not recognized.
- Check Order history for a purchase with the same amount and date.
- Check Services & subscriptions to see whether a Microsoft 365 or other subscription renewed.
- If a subscription was canceled recently, check whether it was canceled less than 2 days before the billing date, because a charge can still occur in that case.
- If the charge still cannot be matched to the account, contact Microsoft Support.
If the charge is not found on the Microsoft account at all, the card may have been used on another account. In that case, contact the card provider or bank to dispute the transaction.
