I am unble to access Authticator as the codes are being sent to an email box I currently cant access and I am also struggling to access the authenticator as the codes are not coming through. I need a human to assist with these issues as i need access to my work emails

    Dear Eugene Letlojane,

For the email issue, the most common cause after moving a domain between providers is that the MX records were not updated correctly, are missing, or are still pointing to the previous provider. This would explain why outbound email works while incoming email does not.‌

Regarding the Microsoft Authenticator issue, if verification codes are being sent to a mailbox you can no longer access, and you cannot use any alternative sign-in method, this will likely require assistance from Microsoft's account recovery or data protection team.

Moreover, to help narrow down the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

    • What type of account are you using that is not receiving the authentication code? A Microsoft 365 work or school account (@company.onmicrosoft.com) or a personal Microsoft account (@outlook.com, @hotmail.com, etc.)
    • Are you the Global Administrator for the Microsoft 365 tenant?‌
    • When someone sends an email to you, do they receive a bounce-back or error message?
    • What new service provider did you move your domain to?

As this is a public community forum, no one here has access to your tenant, authentication methods, or billing/account information. I recommend contacting Microsoft Support directly and requesting assistance with both the domain migration/email routing issue and the MFA recovery process.

The support options differ depending on the account type: a Microsoft 365 work or school account, or a personal Microsoft account.

If this is a business account, the most direct method is to call Microsoft's support line to raise a request. For a full list of regional numbers, you can visit this official page: Customer service phone numbers - Microsoft Support. The support team will assist you as soon as possible.

    Note:

    - You may also consider calling a Microsoft support number for a different region if support in your local region is unavailable or unable to route your case appropriately.

    - While calling, you may hear an introduction of about 30 seconds such as "you can visit the link...". You can ignore it and wait until you are presented with the options. Then press "1" as a business email user, and again "1" for technical help

Here are some tips and an example of a prompt to help you navigate the IVR more effectively:

In some countries, it is an automated conversation like: First, when you call the hotline, it will be asked as follows:

IVR: What kind of problem are you concerned about?

    You: Authenticator.

IVR: What kind of product do you use?

    You: Office 365 for business.

IVR confirmation: education or company account?

    You: For companies

    IVR: Are you an administrator?

    You: Yes.

IVR: Do you have the other administrator in your organization?

    You: No.

IVR: Do you need a... Service request?

    You: Yes

This process should connect you with a live agent who will create a service request with the Data Protection team. They will then contact you to help you regain access.

If you have any questions or if I have misunderstood anything, please feel free to reach out. I'm looking forward to your update.
