Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
To cancel a Microsoft subscription for home use:
- Go to Subscriptions and sign in with the same Microsoft account that was used to buy the subscription.
- Find the subscription and select Manage.
- Select Cancel or Upgrade or Cancel.
- Follow the on-screen steps to complete cancellation.
If Turn on recurring billing appears instead of Manage, the subscription is already set to expire on the shown date and no further action is needed. Access continues until that date.
If cancellation is not available, check these common causes:
- Purchased from a third party: If bought through Amazon, Best Buy, Harvey Norman, Google Play, or the Apple App Store, cancellation must be handled through that seller or store support.
- Wrong account: Sign in with the same Microsoft personal account that made the purchase.
- Billing issue: If the payment card expired or there is an overdue balance, the subscription cannot be canceled until the amount owed is paid.
If the subscription is Microsoft 365 Family or Personal, canceling reduces storage back to 5 GB of cloud storage and 15 GB of Outlook.com storage. If it is a Family subscription, people sharing it also have their storage reduced.
If self-service cancellation still fails, use Microsoft support:
- Go to Contact Microsoft Support
- Enter the problem and select Get Help
- If needed, select Contact Support for the best support option
