How much does the cost

I have not deployed the VM yet. Please confirm whether Azure subscription 1 has promotional/free-trial credit, its remaining balance and expiration date, and whether a new Windows Server VM, managed disks, and networking would be charged against that credit. Please also confirm whether this is a pay-as-you-go subscription.

To confirm whether your Azure subscription has promotional credit, its exact remaining balance, and its plan type, you should check the Azure portal.

To confirm the subscription type, go to Subscriptions, select Azure subscription 1, and check the Offer or Subscription type field. MS-AZR-0044P indicates a Free Trial, while MS-AZR-0017P or a similar offer indicates Pay-As-You-Go. To check the credit balance and expiration, go to Cost Management + Billing → Payment methods → Azure credits, where you can view the remaining credits, original amount, and expiration date.

During the first 30 days of an Azure Free Account, the $200 promotional credit can be applied toward almost any first-party Microsoft Azure service.

When you deploy a Windows Server VM, Azure charges separately for the VM compute, managed disks, and networking. The compute charge covers the VM instance, storage charges cover the OS and attached data disks, and networking charges can include public IP addresses and outbound data transfer.

These standard resource charges consume the promotional credit first, provided the credits have not expired. The promotional credit cannot be used for third-party software purchases from the Azure Marketplace.

In addition, for the first 12 months after your account creation, Microsoft waives the cost for specific monthly resource caps.

    • Virtual Machines: You get 750 hours per month of a B1s burstable VM. This applies to both Linux and Windows Server instances individually. If you leave one B1s Windows Server VM running 24/7, it uses roughly 720–744 hours, keeping you within the free monthly threshold.
    • Managed Disks: You get two 64 GB (P6) Premium SSDs plus 1 GB of snapshot storage free every month. If you deploy your VM, make sure the OS disk size is set to 64 GB or smaller to avoid a monthly charge.
    • Databases: This includes 12 months of free relational databases, such as Azure SQL Database with 250 GB of storage and Azure Database for MySQL.
    • Storage: You get 5 GB of standard Blob Storage (LRS hot block) and 5 GB of Azure Files.
