I apparently have two accounts. Need human help to fix.

I apparently have two subscriptions to Microsoft 365. One was renewed for $216 last month. Another Personal Subscription asked me to renew for $99. I cancelled auto renew on that one.

What do I have to do to talk to a human to get this straightened out?

    Hi JOHN FECHTER,

I understand why you would want a support agent to review this directly, especially with two different renewal amounts involved.

Turning off recurring billing for the unwanted subscription was a good first step. However, this is a user-to-user forum, so contributors here cannot access your account, compare the two billing records, or make changes to either subscription.

Please sign in to Contact Microsoft Support and enter “Two Microsoft 365 subscriptions and duplicate billing”. Select Get Help, then choose Contact Support if that option appears. If the assistant continues showing automated suggestions, enter: “I need to speak with a live support agent about Microsoft 365 subscription billing.”

When speaking with the agent, provide the two charge amounts and renewal dates so they can identify which account or subscription each charge belongs to. Please do not post your email addresses, full order numbers, or payment-card details publicly.

I hope the billing team can help you keep the correct subscription and clarify the other charge. Thank you so much for your understanding.

To speak with a human and sort out the two Microsoft 365 subscriptions:

    1. First, check both Microsoft accounts separately at the Services & subscriptions page and confirm which account has the $216 renewal and which has the $99 Personal subscription.
    2. On the subscription that is not wanted, select Manage > Cancel or Upgrade or Cancel. The cancellation flow can show whether that charge qualifies for a refund.
    3. Since this involves two accounts and duplicate subscription confusion, use Microsoft Support for direct help:
      • Go to Contact Microsoft Support.
      • Enter the problem and select Get Help.
      • If more help is needed, select Contact Support to be routed to the best support option.
    4. If sign-in is part of the problem for one of the accounts, use the Sign-in Helper first to identify the correct account or recover access.

    Important points from Microsoft’s guidance:

    • If a subscription was bought from a third-party retailer, that retailer must handle the subscription and billing.
    • If a retail box or card was purchased, the subscription does not start until the product key is redeemed at Microsoft365.com/setup or through the link in the email receipt.
    • Renewing early does not lose unused time; the expiration date is extended.
    • Do not delete either Microsoft account until it is clear which one contains the wanted subscription and any OneDrive files, email, or purchases.
